Positive Mind, Positive Vibes, Positive Life

Alright people, it’s time we put our positive pants on!

I am grateful to have lived a very privileged life thus far. I’ve never really had to worry about money, I’ve been fortunate enough to travel and have incredible experiences, I have a roof over my head and food to eat, I have great friends and family. I am so lucky to have so many reasons to celebrate the positive in my life.

I’ve been working on cutting out the negativity and leaving the bullshit behind. I’m not sure how much I believe in horoscopes but this one struck a chord with me:

Do you have those friends that will always find the negative in a situation? I sure do. And maybe the horoscope is true…sometimes you need to sever ties with people that you have outgrown. I always thought that as you grew older the drama died down. But I clearly should have known better since I’m a Real Housewives connoisseur.

Yes, there will be bumps in the road. I’ve experienced heartbreak and hard times with my friends. We have bad days. It’s not always unicorns, rainbows and sunshine. But the good times should always outweigh the bad or else you’re doing something wrong. Being in a bad friendship is the same as being in a bad romantic relationship…it just always brings you down and deep down inside you know it needs to end.

There’s so much to be thankful for, I can’t be around people that want to dwell on the bad. Think of how much more fun we’d all have if instead of putting other people down, we spent our time lifting each other up and celebrating life. Positive thinking is more than simply having a great attitude, it can boost your health and even improve your skills. A study was done that found positive emotions broaden your sense of possibilities and open your mind, which in turn allows you to build new skills and resources that can provide value in other areas of your life.

Find ways to decrease stress and bring positive thoughts into your daily life. Not only will you inspire others but life will smile back at you. Every day may not be good, but there is something good in every day.
